skål

you know that typical scene in a movie where a character is standing on the sidewalk and a car drives by/ right through a puddle causing a tidal wave to splash the poor innocent victim on the corner... i was the victim!!! i was just riding my bike when a truck going the opposite direction soaked me! it was great. i was laughing out loud. i was already soaking wet anyways (it rained aaallllllll day) i just wish had been caught on video! to make up for our freezing and wet day of riding through the swedish countryside (we decided we are true cycling bad asses for putting up with the weather today) we are staying in a great little hotel. the receptionist was very excited about our bike ride and really wants to come to california. he asked our names and when we asked his he said Purr. then to make sure we understood he said "like a cat, puuurrrr" while making a hand gesture... funny guy.

skål means cheers in swedish.

  1. I would also have loved to see a video on that. At least you took it all in stride, or should I say peddle LOL. You two are certainly true cycling bad asses. That was the cats meow on the story with the receptionist. Skal (I don't have the thing to make the little o above the a...forgiven?) Stay dry

  2. Skål to you also! I think you are very much bad asses for doing this right now, with our fantastic weather! FYI... It rained more in Denmark the last 24 hours than it will normally rain the whole of June! So let's hope for better weather!

  3. Although we haven't gotten much rain here, the past two weeks have been a serious extension of the Southern California June Gloom. It's been cool and cloudy all day, every day, with a slight sprinkle once in a while just to let us know that the clouds could do more if they really wanted to. It doesn't feel like summer here at all -- not that I'm complaining; my bank account is much happier when I don't have to use the air conditioner!

Happy cycling to the two of you, in better weather, hopefully!

So sorry to hear you got all wet. That is brutal. Keep those heads warm. Would not be too bad to keep the feet and hands dry also. You two must be as strong as horses. Oh yeah, keep those KNEES warm too. Those will keep you going. Glad to hear that you both are healthy. Keep your eyes open and don't let your guard down. For me.. I rode on the largest aircraft in the world... the Zepplin. It docked in Long Beach last month and decided to take a ride, took Denise with me. Lakers won, world champions, 15 NBA title, 10th for Phil Jackson, last world win was 7 years ago. Ticker tape parade Wednesday, the party tab= $2 million. Lakers pay half, City officals say it is too much, now asking for donations. Yes we have June gloom, me, I like it. Cool refreshing air, will boohoo when it gets too hot.
Karen doing well, will eat with Kelly, Pete, later today, and with Lynn, Buddy, this week or next. Will keep following your trail and blog again. Love to you both, as usual, I expect to see you on your planned date of return! Be careful. Oh, tell us what you saw in Oslo and Bergen while you biked around the city.
    Love to you,
    Me
